The Pompano Beach Golf Course is a Municipal 36-hole facility in Pompano Beach, Florida. The Pines Course is one of two golf courses at Pompano Beach Golf Course that was originally designed by Bruce Devlin/Robert von Hagge and opened in 1960. Only minor renovations had been done to the courses over the years. Declining agronomic conditions, outdated design features, undersized greens, and an irrigation system in severe disrepair led the City to issue an RFP for the redesign of the Pines Course.
In fall of 2010, Greg Norman Golf Course Design was commissioned by the City of Pompano Beach to redesign the Pines Course in an effort to modernize the facility and give the City a championship golf course that will serve as a pillar for the community, providing a first class amenity for the residents and tourists of the City of Pompano Beach.
