Shark's Tooth, Sugarloaf, Reserve Among Top 100
Since the late 1980s, golf and residential communities have surfaced in many areas across the United States. While Florida, South Carolina, California and Arizona are the most popular, other regions have seen significant growth in these golf communities as well.

Golfweek annually features the Best 100 Golf Courses Built Within Planned Residential Communities, and this year three Greg Norman designs, Shark's Tooth Golf Club, TPC at Sugarloaf and The Reserve Golf Club, were honored on this distinguished list.
Shark's Tooth Golf Club, which secured the 36th spot, is the only private, signature golf club in northwest Florida. Shark's Tooth stretches 7,200 yards and is part of a 741-acre residential community developed by a team that includes Norman's Medallist Developments. It is located along the shores of Lake Powell in and features 595 units of residential real estate, ranging from estate-sized homes to custom-built homes, town homes and condominiums.

No. 63 on the list is the TPC at Sugarloaf in Duluth, Ga. This Norman-designed gem was built on 1,110 acres of gently rolling hills with towering centuries-old trees, streams and three lakes that was once known at Sugarloaf Farms. Home to the PGA Tour's BellSouth Classic, TPC at Sugarloaf is fully certified with the Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary Programs for Golf Courses. Crescent Resources developed the residential component, which easily blends the serenity of a private setting with an active community.
The third Norman-design to make the list was The Reserve Golf Club, which came in at No. 83. Located in Pawley's Island, S.C., this residential golf course meanders through an environmentally sensitive area of wetlands, pine groves and bird habitats. The 7,182-yard, par-72 layout occupies 60 acres of the 350-acre site.
The 2006 America's Best Residential Golf Courses are derived from Golfweek's national golf course rating panel, consisting of nearly 200 raters from around the United States.
