The Greg Norman-designed 18-hole golf course in Colebee is set to open early next year.
The golfing legend inspected the Stonecutters Ridge course, off Symonds Road, Wednesday, June 2nd.
Norman and his design associate, Matthew Dusenberry, spent more than an hour reviewing progress with course superintendent Anthony Mills.
"I'm very pleased with the progress," Norman said.
"We've completed 12 of the 18 holes in one of the most beautiful sites in this region.
"If everything goes to plan it will open early next year.
"The course has many unique features that will make it one of the best in Sydney, if not NSW."
Norman said major international championships could be played there but that would depend on the developer.
"We've successfully designed a facilities-focused lifestyle community with a world-class 18-hole golf course," he said.
The $340million Stonecutters Ridge community project, a first in Sydney for Medallist Developments, which is a joint venture between Greg Norman's Great White Shark Enterprises and Macquarie Group.
Medallist Developments chief operation officer Brad Tindale was proud of Norman's involvement.
"With Greg Norman's expert vision and mark of approval, the course is destined to rank among Australia's Top 100 courses," he said.
